In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers and books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
For ages, humans have relied on alone paper form for all kinds of reading material. Nonetheless, I agree to a great extent that purchasing a hardcopy of a newspaper or a book, may not be a trend in the future, due to the easy availability of free resources online.
To begin with, there are various advantages of surfing the internet to read. First and foremost, people have a wide variety of reading resources to choose from as per their interest and mood. Secondly, with the technologically advanced gadgets, reading online is at the tip of the finger and as per convenience of time and place. For an example, sight of people reading from their tablets or mobile phones to utilize their time is common in public transport. All this proves that more and more people are moving towards online access.
Furthermore, accessing content online helps in saving thousands of trees, saving mankind from causing further degradation of the environment. Moreover, huge amount of data can be kept in a single gadget, relieving people of the tedious task of maintaining books or libraries. Not just this, illiterate or differently-able people can also benefit with the advance technological features, like facility of audio books. Another major advantage is that everything is available free of cost, making it a future preference of the masses.
In contrast, there are few, who will still prefer to have printed books and newspaper due to their habit or extra comfort. Even, not everyone is well versed with technology. Not to forget, excessive screen exposure is detrimental for all. Hence, inclination towards physical form of texts would prevail to some extent.
In conclusion, there is certainly a shift in the preference of people towards reading online. They must take advantage of the benefits while precautions for the negatives.
